INFORMATION
211 Helpline (NZ) - The 211 Helpline, which can be reached on 0800 211211, provides the public with free, confidential information and access to services for families, seven days a week. It is run by Family and Community Services in partnership with Lifeline and Youthline. For the first time in New Zealand services for families and communities have been categorised into a common classification system. A new tool called 211 Knowledgebase has been developed to search the categories.

This service is designed to help you find useful, accurate, online information - either for your homework or just because you're interested in finding out about things! It's not a quick answers service - instead our online librarians will help you work out the sort of information you need, and then begin searching with you.
 
HeadSpace (NZ) - Headspace is a community resource. It is aimed at providing good information about mental health and illness for young people, their family/whanau and their schools. These pages are a work in progress and we welcome any feedback about their content. Headspace is part of the Kari Centre.
 
itsallright (AU) - SANE Australia has launched this new website for teens. It has diaries based upon 4 teenagers and their experience of living with mental illness in their families, facts and information and an online Helplinefor information andAustralian support services.
 
Kids Health (US) - A site that covers problems from dealing with feelings to general health problems and diet and some sections on mental health issues. For example, the section on Bipolar Disorder has the following opening paragraph:
Imagine being so energetic that you feel you might bounce off the walls. You have zillions of different thoughts, so many you think your head might split right open. You're so full of different feelings buzzing around inside that you don't know what to focus on first. You can hardly sleep - but you don't feel tired. And you just can't stop talking.

Reach Out (AU) - We can help you by improving your understanding of the issues that relate to your mental health and wellbeing and providing information to better understand other people's experiences.
 
Skylight (NZ) - We're a not for profit organisation providing specialised support for New Zealand children, young people, adults and their families/whanau who are facing change, loss, trauma and grief - whatever the cause. We also equip and support those wanting to assist them. We provide a wide range of innovative support resources, helpful information, excellent training and the youth resilience programme Travellers.
 
Studyit - For NCEA Students (NZ) - Your one stop site for achieving in NCEA maths, science, and English. Find what you need to know, contact subject teachers, and get encouragement from other students.
 
The Pulse (NZ) - Help us review the best and worst, and share the stuff you like. Find out about young people who are out there succeeding in music, sport, drama, writing, all kinds of things. We also have information and advice about those big and not-so-big life steps, like getting a driver's licence, learning to cook, finding a job, making money go further, or starting and coping with relationships.
 
The Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK) - When A Parent Has A Mental Illness - Online video. Young carers talk about their lives caring for a parent with mental illness. Narrated by Chineye, a young carer herself, the film also explains in a very simple and visual way how the brain works and what happens when things go wrong.
 
Trippin (NZ) - The website created for Taranaki Youth. "Trippin" can help you figure out what's going on when life feels a bit "out of it". Heaps of stuff can cause you to trip out, things like depression, worries and fears, alcohol and drugs, stress or even stuff to do with sex or sexuality. Trippin explains what all of these things are (plus heaps of other stuff too), and gives you some ideas for how you can sort them out if they are a problem.
 
URGE (NZ) - Urge/Whakamanawa is a youth (health) and information service designed to assist young
people find useful information or resources to help them regarding a variety of youth related topics
 
US Department of Health & Human Services (US) - Lots of information and facts for kids of all ages as well as parents, teachers and educators.
 
Young Carers (AU) - Young Carers website has been produced and funded by the Australian Government Department of Family and Community Services, Canberra with the assistance of the national office of Carers Australia. Here you will find important information and contacts, along with opportunities to express your opinions and provide feedback. There is an online young carers plan to complete and keep on hand in case of an emergency, and there are games for when you feel like chilling out for a while.
 
Young Minds (UK) - Welcome to the new YoungMinds website! Our charity provides information that helps children and young people cope with difficult feelings.
 
Youthlaw Tino Rangatiratanga Taitamariki (NZ) - Youthlaw Tino Rangatiratanga Taitamariki is a community law centre for children and young people. Most law centres operate regionally, and act for individuals with unmet legal needs. We are unique in that we operate nationally and we are only for children and young people under 25 years old.
