NEW ZEALAND AOTEAROA FAMILY THERAPY NETWORK CONFERENCE 12-14TH MARCH 2012
The New Zealand Aotearoa Family Therapy Network began in Spring 2011 and has expanded to over 250 members. The goal of the network is to provide a connection for everyone who does family therapy or works with families in any capacity. Membership is free to anyone who wants to join. The NZAFT website, www.nzaft.com, has a therapist/service locator page so that anyone who wants to find family supportive counsellors or agencies around the country can do so easily. There’s also a news page and a place for links to associated organisations and services.

NZAFT is holding a conference and preconference in Auckland the 12, 13, and 14th of March 2012. The preconference features Dr Douglas Sprenkle presenting the latest research evidence for when and why families should be included in assessment and treatment, and Dr Judith Landau speaking on her ARISE model for clients/families who have drug and alcohol or other addictions. The conference includes an array of international and NZ presenters on a variety of exciting topics. You can access the fl ier at www.nzaft.com.

At the conference, the NZAFT Network is looking to initiate two sub-associations, one for family therapists and one for people who involve families in their work. There is also a form on our website for anyone who wishes to give input as to the form these might take.
