Are You OK - Family Violence (NZ) - The Campaign for Action on Family Violence website will be constantly evolving and expanding as the Campaign grows and takes hold around New Zealand. Here you can find links to the websites of organisations around New Zealand who are committed to supporting individuals and communities to say family violence, it's not OK! 0800 Family Violence Information Line (0800 456 450) provides self-help information and connects people to services where appropriate.
Camellia House Inc (NZ) - Provide Refuge based services to families seeking safety from Domestic Violence, and specialise for families with Disabilities and Mental Health Issues. Caters to all families.
Inner City Womens Group (NZ) - The Inner City Women's Group was established in May 1988 by Auckland Women's Refuge as a support group for the partners of men attending Anger Management programmes. After initial meetings it was decided that the Women's support groups would be available to the wider community. The Inner City Women's Group became incorporated as an Independent Charitable Trust on the 16th December 1993 and has a collective structure.
Auckland Sexual Abuse Help (NZ) - 24 Hour telephone crisis and rape call out service. This service is for those who have reported a sexual assault to the police and who are going through police procedures such as interviews and forensic medical examinations. A 24 hour phone counselling, advocacy and information service. This service if for survivors needing support dealing with the effects of recent or historical sexual violence.
Mental Health America (US) - Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is an anxiety disorder that can occur following the experience or witnessing of a traumatic event. A traumatic event is a life-threatening event such as military combat, natural disasters, terrorist incidents, serious accidents, or physical or sexual assault in adult or childhood.
Rape Crisis Auckland (NZ) - Rape Prevention Education - Whakatu Mauri (formerly Rape Crisis Auckland) is a non-profit agency founded in 1975. Rape Prevention Education (RPE) works to eliminate rape and sexual abuse through education and community work. RPE also provides support and information to survivors of sexual abuse and their whanau/friends though a telephone information, referral and support line.
Shine (NZ) - Preventing Violence in the Home is an incorporated society with charitable status and was formed in 1990. For two thirds of its history, the agency's primary function was to run a crisis telephone service for the Auckland region. However, over the last five years the agency has undergone rapid growth in response to a much more expansive vision of what could be possible and an optimistic approach to making this vision reality.
Tu Wahine Trust Incorporated (NZ) - We offer counselling and therapy to Maori whanau affected by violence and abuse. We also provide court approved programmes and have A.C.C. accredited counsellors.
Victim Support (NZ) - Helping fellow New Zealanders cope with the immediate crisis or trauma and the events that follow are at the heart of Victim Support's community role and is the essence of the Victim Support workers job - being there when they are needed most.
Women's Refuge (NZ) - At Women's Refuge, we provide any of the support and information you need when you are dealing with violence in your life. We are not a government department, we are an independent community organisation run by women for women and children. Our services are confidential and free (although rent is usually charged in the safe house, safety is our main concern: You won't be turned away if you can't pay).
