SUICIDE PREVENTION HELPLINE EXTENDS HOURS – 0508 TAUTOKO (0508 828 865)
Lifeline Aotearoa’s toll-free, National Suicide Prevention Helpline is extending its service hours. The helpline known as 0508 TAUTOKO is now open from 12 Midday to12 Midnight, 7 days a week.

0508 TAUTOKO is a crisis support service for anyone concerned about themselves or someone else who may be having thoughts of suicide. Qualified mental health professionals respond to each call using the internationally recognised Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).

Lifeline Aotearoa is about to launch a three month television suicide prevention campaign on Māori Television called “Start the Conversation Today – Me tīmata te kōrero i tēnei rā!”.  The television campaign encourages whanau / family to talk about their feelings with one another and features the 0508 TAUTOKO suicide prevention helpline number at the end of each advert.

Lifeline Aotearoa is New Zealand’s leading helpline organisation. It provides a wide range of support services including the acclaimed National Depression Initiative featuring John Kirwan, the Family Violence “It’s Not OK” Line, “Choice Not Chance” Gambling Helpline, and the internationally approved suicide prevention education trainings; ASIST, Suicide TALK and SafeTALK. Affinity Services - Maternal Crisis Respite - Our Maternal Crisis Respite Service uses recovery principles to actively support mothers and their babies when mothers are experiencing mental health crisis while maintaining close links with their family / whanau, local community supports and District Health Board clinical services.
 
Auckland City Mission - Providing assistance for one-off emergency or long-term problems. Whether it's a specific issue that has led people to the Mission, the continuing poverty cycle, or a culmination of many problems, the Mission's social workers are there to help guide people through the steps to change. On arrival, one of the social workers will take time to talk through a person's situation in depth to really understand what is going on. The Mission does not just hand out a food parcel and then send people on their way. Staff provide advice, give immediate assistance, make referrals to other services and develop a plan to help people make improvements in their lives.
 
Auckland Sexual Abuse Help - 24 Hour telephone crisis and rape call out service. This service is for those who have reported a sexual assault to the police and who are going through police procedures such as interviews and forensic medical examinations. A 24 hour phone counselling, advocacy and information service. This service if for survivors needing support dealing with the effects of recent or historical sexual violence.

Rape Crisis Auckland - Rape Prevention Education - Whakatu Mauri (formerly Rape Crisis Auckland) is a non-profit agency founded in 1975. Rape Prevention Education (RPE) works to eliminate rape and sexual abuse through education and community work. RPE also provides support and information to survivors of sexual abuse and their whanau/friends though a telephone information, referral and support line.
 
Women's Refuge - At Women's Refuge, we provide any of the support and information you need when you are dealing with violence in your life. We are not a government department, we are an independent community organisation run by women for women and children. Our services are confidential and free (although rent is usually charged in the safe house, safety is our main concern: You won't be turned away if you can't pay).
 
Youthline - Youthline provides a free, confidential and non judgemental telephone counselling service as well as Face to Face and Family Therapy.
